Created in 1905, SNEF was founded on the Port of Marseille as a ship electrician. It then developed its activities in France's ports and naval dockyards. In keeping with its commitment to continuous improvement, Groupe SNEF increasingly turned to the industry sector and became a recognized player in the fields of electrical engineering, instrumentation and control systems.
In the 80s, SNEF diversified into other sectors of the Industry before conquering the Services and Telecommunications markets. Since then, its network of branch offices has expanded throughout France and internationally.
With the acquisition of the EKIUM Group, Groupe SNEF has expanded its field of action in conception design and engineering. With the integration of Fouré Lagadec, Groupe SNEF has further enhanced its expertise in the field of industrial mechanical maintenance. The creation of SNEF LAB marks Groupe SNEF’s commitment to new technologies, support for the development of its historical activities.
In 2014, SNEF launched the Phare Project, a transformation plan to prepare the company and its employees for a new development cycle. Resolutely turned towards Conquest and Entrepreneurship, the project led to the strengthening of business structures with the creation of 6 specialty brands, the establishment of a division specializing in Large Projects, and the creation of a Business Development Division organized by sectors and Key Accounts.
In 40 years, SNEF has established operations in 14 countries, first to assist its major French customers, and then in the context of long-term operations along two main axes. A geographical axis: SNEF has set-up long-term operations in Africa, Eastern Europe and South America, where it offers services similar to those developed in France. Our local clients are partners benefiting from the same proximity and service logic as they would in France.
A trade axis: SNEF is a recognized player in the Automotive, Cement and Materials, Oil & Gas, and Nuclear fields. Our teams can intervene anywhere in the world, on either an ad-hoc or long-term basis, to assist the major players of these sectors, in the continuity of relationships developed in France as well as in Eastern Europe, South America and Africa.
SNEF LAB was created around SNEF Technologies, in the industrial IT and cybersecurity sectors; SNEF Audiovisuel; Mios, for connected objects; Predict, specializing in predictive maintenance algorithms; Sequor, an Industry 4.0 software publisher; and of Brinel, IT architect.
The creation of SNEF Lab marks Groupe SNEF’s commitment to new technologies, the backbone for the development of its historical business lines. With this new approach, we have leaped forward into the all-digital age and the era of Connected Objects, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Industrial Reality.
